The PDP Remo Ladies Association was not surprised by the jaundiced allegation made by a faceless and myopic group, the APC Remo Vanguard, a nomenclature that represents no advocacy for good representation but rather netizens employed to sully the images of reputable individuals. So, in their recent display of characteristic self-importance, the group took to the public stage to bestow their unsolicited contribution on governance. From their lofty perch, the group raised allegations against Hon. Bola Oluwole, impugning his ability and raising issues with his capacity to deliver, citing gender sentiment as we prepare for a bye-election in Remo Constituency in Ogun State.
Interestingly, the PDP Remo Ladies Association will be glad to oil their ignorance that the PDP’s candidate in the upcoming election is not only popular but has contributed immensely to the development of Remo and has been a champion for good governance. Recall that Hon. Bola Oluwole’s empathy aligns with the expectations of Remo residents, among some of his projects are JIGI BOLA, a healthcare platform whereby he addressed sight problems among residents, correcting defects and providing solutions, electrification initiatives, provision of portable water for the people of Remo land, amongst other projects.
Ironically, the APC, whose DNA and ideology are anti-people, has embarked on a fruitless effort characterized by insincerity. Prior to the imposition of Hon. Elegbeji, there were cacophonies of voices who claimed he was imposed, and despite a deluge of complaints, the leadership of the party turned deaf ears to the supplications of their members to force her on the party. Party faithful had claimed that imposition is an implosion which will not only deprive the people of Remo of the benefits of democracy but will lead to jettisoning her duties to satisfy her benefactors.
The quo duo pro agreement will be detrimental to the growth of Remo Land. In an era when representation should be for the general benefit of the people, the Remo Vanguard has lost their compass in search of frivolities. It is obvious that the APC’s candidate does not only lack abilities but is not conversant with the constituency, so it is therefore dangerous to have a round peg in a square hole. Hon. Elegbeji is an unfit representation, and we will not put the future of Remo people in danger.
The public must remain vigilant, as the APC will likely deploy every trick in the book to win the election. Given their fear of losing, they may resort to cheap blackmail and other undemocratic tactics. However, Hon. Bolarinwa Oluwole’s track record as a peaceful Nigerian and Remo indigenes speaks for itself. As a champion of prosperous Remo, he will not condone any actions that jeopardize the well-being of his people.
We urge the APC to refrain from acts that are inconsistent with democratic norms. The people of Remo deserve a fair and transparent election process. Let’s ensure that our democracy is protected and that the voices of eligible voters are heard.”
However, attempts to undermine a political figure’s credibility based on gender sentiments are not only puerile but also a distraction from the real issues at hand. Politics should be about policies, leadership abilities, and vision for the future, not about gender. Therefore, we advise the Remo Vanguard to desist from shallow and outlandish essays, a puerile narrative which is dead on arrival, and to the public, let’s be careful of these enemies of democracy who are not only myopic but give narratives which are laced with a rancid concoction of lies.
Hon. Oluwole will be a voice that will take your challenges to the House of Representative and make sure dividends of democracy cascade to the rural areas. Let’s embrace the paradigm shift in polity and vote for Hon. Bolarinwa Oluwole for a better tomorrow.
