History was made at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, as Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo SAN, alighted gracefully from Air Peace’s inaugural direct flight from São Paulo, Brazil. The arrival marked a significant milestone in Nigeria’s aviation history, further cementing the country’s strategic push for stronger global air connectivity.
The video of the Minister stepping down from the aircraft alongside a high-powered Nigerian delegation, including top-ranking cabinet ministers and the Chairman of Air Peace, Chief Allen Onyema, has since sparked excitement across the aviation and business communities.
With this groundbreaking Lagos–São Paulo route, Air Peace becomes the first Nigerian carrier to establish a direct commercial link between Nigeria and Brazil, creating fresh opportunities for trade, tourism, and diplomacy. The Aviation Minister’s presence on the flight not only underscored the government’s commitment to supporting indigenous airlines but also highlighted Nigeria’s ambition to expand its aviation footprint across continents.
The historic landing was met with cheers and warm applause at the Lagos airport, as dignitaries, stakeholders, and well-wishers celebrated the dawn of a new chapter in Nigeria–Brazil relations, made possible through homegrown aviation excellence.
