Following the kick-off of the campaigns for Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s re-election on Monday in Ado-Ekiti for his second term election, 64 leaders representing the 64 wards in Ekiti South Senatorial District of the state met Tuesday in Ikere-Ekiti to strategise for the governorship campaign ahead of the June 20 poll.
The meeting called at the instance of the Deputy Director General (South) of the Ekiti State Governorship Campaign Council, Hon Kayode Babade, had in attendance Senator Yemi Adaramodu, Hon Femi Bamisile and Hon Niyi Ojuawo, including other leaders who are gatekeepers representing the entire wards in the Senatorial District.
Babade spoke on the need to work hard to post unprecedented results in the June 20 election.
He urged discipline, loyalty and commitment to ensure victory for the governor.
Adaramodu spoke in the same vein, stressing that the South senatorial district that has the largest population of indigenous voters must work hard to beat the 500, 000 votes mark announced by the campaign council as the minimum expected on June 20 poll.
Bamisile said although Oyebanji’s victory is a forgone conclusion, he stressed the need for the South to work hard to post the highest votes on election day.
Urging the wards’ anchor persons to go all out to preach BAO’s gospel, Ojuawo stressed the need for collective efforts to target more than 500,000 votes mark.
The three National Assembly members assured full support for Oyebanji for victory, promising to provide logistics for the smooth running of the campaign activities.
All leaders in attendance appreciated the initiative for early campaign and assured that whatever is needed will be applied for a successful campaign to ensure victory for the governor.
