Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has officially received the Torch of Unity for the 2026 Akwa Ibom State Sports Festival, marking a significant milestone in the state’s athletic history. The ceremony, which took place on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at the Governor’s Office Complex in Uyo, signals the commencement of activities leading up to the highly anticipated biennial sporting showpiece.
Receiving the torch from the Ministry of Youth and Sports officials, Governor Eno restated his administration’s unwavering commitment to sports development, youth empowerment, and grassroots talent discovery.
