FG Releases 2026/2027 Federal Unity Colleges Admission List, Directs Successful Candidates To Confirm Placements

The Federal Government has released the 2026/2027 admission list for Junior Secondary School One (JSS1) into Federal Unity Colleges across the country, directing successful candidates to begin the process of confirming their placements and completing admission formalities.
The admission list was approved by the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, and is now available to parents and guardians through the Federal Ministry of Education’s admission portal as well as on the notice boards of the respective Federal Unity Colleges.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Director of Press and Public Relations in the Ministry of Education, Folasade Boriowo, said the release of the list was part of efforts to ensure a transparent and orderly admission process.
Alausa said the development “reaffirms the Federal Government’s commitment to ensuring a transparent, accessible and orderly admission process for prospective students seeking placement in Federal Unity Colleges.”
Successful candidates are required to print their admission slips and proceed to the Federal Unity College indicated on the slip for confirmation and completion of the admission process.
The ministry advised parents and guardians to promptly check the admission status of their children and wards and ensure that successful candidates report to their respective colleges in line with the stated requirements.
Admission status and admission slips can be accessed through the Federal Ministry of Education Posting Portal at fmeposting.com.ng/auth/login.
The release followed the conduct of the 2026 National Common Entrance Examination, which serves as the basis for admission into JSS1 of the Federal Unity Colleges.
The examination was conducted by the National Examinations Council (NECO).
A total of 60,357 candidates registered for the 2026 National Common Entrance Examination, while 56,950 candidates sat for the examination and 3,407 were absent.
The figures highlight the continued demand for admission into the Federal Unity Colleges, which remain among the Federal Government’s flagship secondary education institutions.
The colleges are located across the country’s six geopolitical zones and were established, among other objectives, to promote national integration by bringing together students from different states and backgrounds while providing access to federally funded secondary education.
Admission into the institutions is conducted under an approved quota arrangement that seeks to balance merit, equality among states and other relevant considerations.
The Federal Government has repeatedly stressed the need for transparency in the admission process, particularly amid concerns over access to quality public secondary education and the need to provide equitable opportunities to children from different parts of the country.
Congratulating successful candidates, Alausa urged them to approach their education with “diligence, discipline and commitment to excellence.”
The minister also encouraged the newly admitted students to make the most of the opportunity and uphold the standards expected of students in the Federal Unity Colleges.
Parents and guardians of successful candidates are expected to complete all confirmation and admission requirements at the colleges indicated on their admission slips.
The ministry also urged candidates and their parents to comply with the reporting requirements to avoid unnecessary delays in completing the admission process.
