In a decisive move to bolster grassroots security and enhance the capacity of law enforcement agencies, the Executive Chairman of Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area, Hon. James A. James, has officially donated a brand-new operational vehicle to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Opobo/Nkoro Division.
The brief yet significant handover ceremony took place at the Council Secretariat in Opobo Town, the administrative headquarters of the Local Government Area. This timely gesture underscores the local administration’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives, property, and critical infrastructure within the riverine communities.

Speaking during the presentation, Hon. James A. James emphasized that security remains the bedrock of his developmental agenda. He noted that the donation aims to address the logistics challenges faced by security personnel in the area, thereby improving emergency response times and enabling proactive patrols across the LGA.
“Security is the foundation of any meaningful development,” the Chairman stated. “To ensure our people sleep with both eyes closed and local commerce continues to thrive, we must actively equip those on the frontlines of our security architecture.
