Ijebu Ode, Ogun State – In a powerful display of unity, leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the nine local government areas of Ogun East Senatorial District have unanimously endorsed Otunba Gbenga Daniel as their consensus candidate for the senatorial seat ahead of the next general elections.
The endorsement, which comes after extensive consultations, is understood to be in line with the preference of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Sources close to the party indicate that a recent popularity poll conducted by the inner caucus of the APC National Working Committee showed Senator Daniel enjoying overwhelming support, a finding that was formally recommended to the President.
The declaration was made today during the Renewed Hope Empowerment Programme held at Obalofin Court, GRA Ijebu Ode, which drew a massive turnout of party faithful, stakeholders, and beneficiaries from across the district. The event served as both an empowerment initiative and a clear demonstration of the party’s readiness to rally behind a candidate widely seen as capable of delivering results.
Speaking at the gathering, several APC chieftains described Otunba Gbenga Daniel as a tested, experienced, and people oriented leader whose presence in the Senate has brought tangible development and federal projects to Ogun East. They praised his consistent empowerment programmes and his ability to attract meaningful federal intervention projects to the zone.“Senator Gbenga Daniel has proven himself beyond doubt. His leadership style, reach, and commitment to the welfare of our people make him the right choice at this critical time,” one of the district leaders remarked to loud applause.
The endorsement has been received with excitement and renewed energy among party members, who chanted in solidarity as they expressed confidence that Daniel’s continued representation will further consolidate the gains already recorded in the senatorial district.
Party insiders say the consensus aligns perfectly with the broader strategic direction of the APC both at the national and state levels, positioning Ogun East for stronger influence and development in the years ahead. This development is expected to significantly shape the political landscape in Ogun State as the party prepares for the elections.
