The Governor of Ebonyi State Rt . Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has called on Muslim faitful to leverage the sacred occasion of Eid-el-Fitr and pray for peace in Nigeria in particular and global stability.
In a message, Governor Nwifuru also urged Muslims to, like Prophet Mohammed, continue to show love, extend charities and camaraderie to their neighbors in Nigeria as the holy season requires.
“On this sacred and joyous occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, I extend my warmest greetings and heartfelt goodwill to our Muslim brothers and sisters in Ebonyi State, across Nigeria, and around the world.
“It is also a time that calls us to renew our commitment to the values of compassion, unity, and generosity.
“As you celebrate this auspicious festival, I urge you to continue to extend love, kindness, and charity to the less privileged among us, in keeping with the true essence of Islam.
“At this critical time in our national journey, I call on all faithful to offer prayers for enduring peace, unity, and stability in Nigeria.
“As our nation gradually approaches the 2027 political season, pray we are guided by wisdom, tolerance, and a collective resolve to place the interest of our country above self and ensure a violence free election as espoused by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
“With the holy season of Ramadan, we must also remember to pray for global peace, that conflicts may cease and that humanity may embrace dialogue, understanding, and coexistence.
“On behalf of the Government and good people of Ebonyi State, I wish you all a peaceful, joyful, and blessed Eid-el-Fitr celebration”.
