Nigeria is glowing with pride as 15-year-old Kanyeyachukwu Tagbo-Okeke, a gifted autistic artist, has made history by earning a Guinness World Record for creating the largest painting on canvas by an individual.
His awe-inspiring artwork, titled “Impossibility is a Myth,” spans a breathtaking 12,303.87 square metres, surpassing the previous global record of about 9,652m². The record-breaking masterpiece was unveiled during a special exhibition in Lagos, celebrating not just creativity but also innovation in sustainability through the E1 Boat Team’s clean energy project.
The event became a moment of national pride as both the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Lagos State Government showered praises on the young prodigy.
The Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, Hanatu Musawa, described Kanyeyachukwu as “a gift to humanity” and “a shining example of how creativity can serve as therapy and transformation.”
“What Kanye has done with the talents God has given him is truly extraordinary. He’s not only elevated Nigeria’s name globally but also shown the power of art as a healing tool,” Musawa said.

“To over 22 million Lagosians, your achievement is a beacon of hope. You’ve reminded us that with passion and courage, possibility is within reach.”
Beyond his record-breaking feat, Kanyeyachukwu’s story has sparked conversations about autism acceptance, inclusion, and creative therapy in Nigeria.
His Grand Patron, Chuck Nduka-Eze, emphasized the need for more trained professionals to support individuals on the autism spectrum, stressing that Kanyeyachukwu’s success highlights what can be achieved with understanding and opportunity.
The teenager’s accomplishment is not just about art — it’s about breaking barriers, redefining potential, and proving that “impossibility is truly a myth.”
