Lagos, Nigeria – August 2025 – Acclaimed media entrepreneur, filmmaker, and founder of the Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards, Seun Oloketuyi, is set to unveil his latest work, a coffee-table book titled Making Movies the Nollywood Way, on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at the prestigious Radisson Hotel, GRA, Ikeja.
Organized by Ultimate Communications, the unveiling promises to be one of the highlights of the Nollywood calendar this year. The event will kick off with a red carpet and cast call at 3:00pm, while the official ceremony begins promptly at 5:00pm (no African time).
Making Movies the Nollywood Way is a 117-page volume that captures the unique journey of Nigeria’s film industry through the voices of 21 filmmakers across generations. The book features pioneers such as Opa Williams, Zeb Ejiro, Tade Ogidan, Emem Isong, and Fidelis Duker, alongside contemporary voices including Tope Oshin, Biodun Stephen, Ibrahim Yekini, AY Makun, and Obi Emelonye. Each filmmaker offers personal insights into their debut projects, the challenges of funding and production, and the triumphs that have defined their careers.
Speaking ahead of the launch, Oloketuyi described the book as both a cultural archive and a celebration of resilience:
“This book tells the untold stories of how Nollywood filmmakers carved out a global identity against all odds. It is designed to inspire the next generation of storytellers while preserving the legacies of those who built the industry.”
Seun Oloketuyi’s career spans journalism, film production, and cultural documentation. Widely recognized as a celebrity journalist, he is also the founder of the Best of Nollywood Awards, Nigeria’s longest-running film industry award platform, and producer of notable films including Blogger’s Wife and Wetin Women Want.
The September 7 unveiling will bring together Nollywood stars, cultural leaders, and industry stakeholders to celebrate both the book and the creative spirit of Africa’s largest film industry.
