Inter Milan have entered a tense standoff with Atalanta as they push to secure the signing of Nigeria international Ademola Lookman.
The Nerazzurri tabled an improved €45 million package, comprising €40 million upfront and €5 million in add-ons, but Atalanta remain firm on their €50 million valuation.
Inter’s stance follows earlier rejections of two bids, including €42 million plus €3 million in bonuses.
Sources in Italy suggest Atalanta’s rigid position is linked to a 15 percent sell-on clause owed to RB Leipzig, a factor complicating negotiations.

Despite the deadlock, Inter President Beppe Marotta remains optimistic, expressing confidence that an agreement could still be reached within days.
The club has, however, set a strict 10-day deadline, warning they will pursue other targets if no progress is made.
Meanwhile, Lookman had reportedly rejected overtures from Premier League clubs earlier and has since submitted a formal transfer request.
Personal terms with Inter are understood to be agreed, leaving the Serie A giants with the task of breaking Atalanta’s resistance.
With negotiations entering a decisive stage, the coming days will determine whether Lookman completes a high-profile switch to the San Siro or if Inter are forced to walk away from the deal.
