On May 10, Daniel Ikegwuonu and his wife, Miriam, arrived at the Murtala Muhammed Domestic Airport in Lagos to catch a flight to Port Harcourt.

To their surprise, they were told they couldn’t fly as their flight had been cancelled and rescheduled for the following day.

Ikegwuonu told FIJ that the airline then instructed that they reschedule their trip which they did.

“After we rescheduled our trip following Max Air’s instruction, we got to the airport on May 11 only to find out that the flight had been cancelled again,” he said.

“They told us the ticket had been cancelled.

“My wife and I had to travel to Port Harcourt by road.”

Ikegwuonu said that he then began to press for a refund from Max Air.

“I filled a refund form requesting for N100,000 and also called them several times but to no avail,” Ikegwuonu told FIJ.

“I even went to their office in Port Harcourt but it was always shut down as no operations were going on there.”

When FIJ sent an email to Max Air on Thursday morning, this reporter got no response. Ikegwuonu later confirmed to us that he got a refund in the evening of the same day.

“I just got refunded of N100,000 by Max Air,” Ikegwuonu told FIJ.

“This is unbelievable. Thank you, FIJ. This actually works. I appreciate your services.”
