It was reported that government security forces, forcefully made their way into the home of one Mr. Bankole Dominic on the 14th of January 2022, in company of one Ifeanyi Onuoha, (an IPOB member). He was reported to have been beaten up and kidnapped. they drove off in two unnumbered trucks which they came with. Further investigations revealed that Mr. Dominic became a target because of an article that he had written on his research about the struggle of the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) on the 25th of May 2021, a cause which he saw as legitimate.
At the time of this report, the whereabout of Mr. Bankole Dominic and other members that were kidnapped that day, is still yet unknown.
