Bitcoin Price Slumps to $43,200
Bitcoin price slumps further today in a volatile trading session. A large number of retail investors sell down the cryptoassets.
Most of the major 20 cryptocurrencies, led by Bitcoin (BTC-USD) and Ethereum (ETH-USD), slipped in late New York trading on Thursday. Bitcoin price falls to $43,244 at press time amidst retail selloff.
Bitcoin was recently changing hands at $43,484 a few hours ago, down 2.7% over the past 24 hours, after touching $42,645 earlier in the day, the lowest point since Sept. 30.
The trading volume of the largest cryptocurrency by market value was up 27% at $37.16 billion. The recent retreat expanded the oldest cryptocurrency’s year-to-date loss to 6.1%, compared with a 1.3% loss for the S&P 500 Index.
Sixteen additional cryptocurrencies logged losses on Thursday, with Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market value, making the biggest move, sinking 5.5% to $3,450.
Solana (SOL-USD) and XRP (XRP-USD), the no. 4 and 5 cryptocurrencies by market value, fell 3% and 2.2% respectively. Cosmos (ATOM-USD), the no. 14 cryptocurrency by market value, meanwhile, jumped 7.3% to $40.62.
The price decline in the major cryptoassets dragged market capitalisation down to $2.07 trillion, falling by 2.50% in the last 24 hours as Bitcoin continues to shedding weight. #Bitcoin Price Slumps to $43,200
