Do you remember the story of the boy who cried “Wolf!”? I believe that story was told to us as kids for a reason. The moral lesson is so glaring.
The day the actual wolf came, nobody knew what to believe. I see a lot of posts on my timeline about Tonto Dikeh and her ex-husband’s saga; written by people I thought had some sense. Their take on the actress’ interview with Daddy Freeze leaves me wondering if some nuts are loose in their heads.
Has the whole world gone mad? This is a woman who flashed a yellow diamond rock as her engagement ring, made us who wear “microscopic stones” to sit down and think about our lives.? She flaunted car gifts claiming there were from Churchill, made us believe he was Obasanjo’s son. Even went on to grant an unnecessary interview with Golden Icons praising her then husband to high heavens.
Before all these, she had attacked her fellow actress, Mercy Johnson claiming she was a “witch” who “married poorly” and that Mercy’s daughter, Purity was a “monkey.” Reason for the outburst? Mercy returned on set to work, months after giving birth.
When people chided her, Tonto boasted on Twitter that when she eventually gets married, we will see who her husband would be.
Yes, she later begged Mercy for forgiveness, but not after her marriage had disgracefully crashed with her confessing that she bought the diamond ring and Prado jeep herself to do us pepper eye; while claiming they were gifts from her husband.
You cannot claim to be a public figure, lie so compulsively to the world about stuff that is frankly speaking none of our business and expect not to take some responsibility for the repercussions? Do you know how many young girls were misled by these lies and turned down marriage proposals from decent struggling men because the ring they proposed with wasn’t big enough?
Yes, The Festus Keyamo is her lawyer, she has receipts and documents that are not forged to prove that Churchill is a “broke ass, fraudulent, diabolic, 40-second man”, but so are the “receipts” she showed us before. The ring, houses in Ghana and Nigeria, the cars, “Obasanjo’s son” with Obasanjo himself posing beside her and Churchill. I mean what receipts or evidence could be stronger than those?
I am neutral about what she allegedly suffered in her marriage. You don’t build a holy union on a foundation of LIES. “Be not deceived, God is not mocked…” (Gal.6:7). Let her calm down and thank God for bringing her out of all the turmoil. She is already out, no need to continuously spit venom. Let her calm down and apply wisdom to regain what’s left of her good reputation.
I will support her 100% to sue Churchill if he is bent on destroying her career by spreading accusations about her being a drug addict. Yes, because it could ruin her chances of getting good acting gigs, endorsements and even foreign funding for her charity. That’s like evil if Churchill is towing that route.
However, all the sh*t that went down in her marriage is none of my frigging business. SHE KNEW…and she settled for it. Why cry wolf now, when you were playing to the gallery?
Another 5 years from now, I won’t be surprised if the beautiful actress releases another statement to confess again that she fought dirty and told lies to get back at Churchill. I have nothing against Tonto, just tired of all the lies and half truths.
