Strategic Partners of the Euromatch Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), GTI Asset Management and Trust Limited yesterday assured that it will account for every penny raised in the running of the league.
GTI Asset Management and Trust Limited Executive Director, Nelson Ine, gave the assurance while speaking at the Euromatch NPFL Media Parley organised by the company on Thursday 10th of September 2026 in Lagos.
According to him, transparency and accountability are the watch words as they drive to make the Euromatch NPFL number one in Africa.
ThisNigeria recall that Euromatch signed a 7.5 million dollar three-year title sponsorship deal with the NPFL valued at 2.5 million dollar yearly
“Every single penny is going to be accounted for,” he said in his presentation. “The mission is to make our league number one in Africa.
He noted that the league has made some progress in the past five years following the coming on board of GTI.
“When we started five years ago, we‹re number 10 but today we are number five in Africa by FIFA ranking. Though, we have not gotten to where we are supposed to be but we have made some progress.
“Within the next five years the Nigerian league will eventually be number one in Africa and will emerge among the top leagues just as our music industry of today.
Mr. Ine, however admitted that there are still a lot of work to be done to take the Euromatch NPFL to the desired destination, while calling on the sporting press to also be part of the project to make the Nigerian football league to the next level
“We still have a lot to do to accomplish our dream.We are also calling on the sporting press to support the EuroMatch NPFL,” he added.
Speaking early Group Managing Director, GTI Group, Mr. Abubakar Lawal acknowledged the decision of EuroMatch to invest in the NPFL, describing it as a vote of confidence in Nigerian football.

The GTI boss, also called on the corporate world to come and be part of the project and be part of the history that made the Nigerian premier League great.
